
COLUSA COUNTY
Colusa County is located in the Central Valley of California, northwest of state capital of Sacramento. As of the 2010 census, its population was 21,419. The county seat is the city of Colusa. Colusa County is one of the original counties of California, created in 1850 at the time of statehood. According to the 2000 census, the county has a total area of 1,156.22 square miles, of which 1,150.68 square miles (or 99.52%) is land and 5.54 square miles (or 0.48%) is water. It has a number of large streams, which include Elk Creek and Salt Creek. A portion of the county's eastern boundary is formed by the Sacramento River. There are two incorporated cities in Colusa County: Colusa and Williams.
